history: monica was born and raised in west palm beach, florida, her hometown. she loves it there, and used to think that she didn't want to move anywhere else. she wanted to be by the beach everyday and go swimming in the clear blue water. she used to take riding lessons at a hunter jumper barn in florida, but her parents didn't want her to ride after a while. they thought that it was dangerous and a waste of money. monica wasn't very happy about that when they told her that at the age of 12, but she knew she had no choice. she knew that someday she would start riding again. she has always wanted a horse, and still really wants to own one of her own, but would also be okay with just taking lessons.
monica had to live with not riding, and decided to take up a new hobby, swimming. she joined the swim team at her highschool, and ended up doing quite well, winning many medals. her parents were very proud of her, though deep in heart she knew that riding was also her passion. she still loves swimming though, and even though she doesn't go in any competitions anymore, she swims every day. it is something that she must do every day, no exceptions.
but much has changed since then. she graduated from highschool last year, hoping to pursue a career in buisness. her parents wanted her to stay home with them for a while, even though she didn't want to at all. she wanted to start a new life. she decided that she would wait for a bit, at her parents wishes. she decided that it was time for a road trip. so she came upon wayside, texas. she hopes that she can make new friends here, and maybe, who knows, find love. it is quite a bit different than florida, but she feels that she will love it here anyways. she wants to start riding again, and hopefully go to jumper shows.

roleplay sample: a horse sample written by me, from an equine roleplay.
Eth wandered through Kular Valley, he had never been here before. He had always been stuck at Twilight Caverns, doing whatever he pleased. Occasionally he would talk to Sundown and Burned and their foals, but usually he stayed quiet and kept to himself. He knew he needed to meet someone new, to get his mind out of the depressed state he was in. His mate had died long ago, it seemed like he could never forget her. Never get her out of his mind. He used to be the cheery, happy type but now he was just a lost sad neutral stallion wandering aimlessly.
He also missed his friend Sundown. Sundown was his best friend, the one that had given him a home and the rank as beta stallion at Twilight Caverns. But Eth hadn't seen Sundown in a very long time, he hadn't seen anyone in that herd even when he walked through it. Even when he opened up his maw to yell a loud hello that always went unanswered. He figured that something had happened during the migration. He hadn't seen anyone since before the migration.
He was restless and his heart was full of sorrow and pain. He felt guilty somehow, thinking that it was his fault that his mate that died, even though it was not. Sundown always knew a way to cheer him up, they would go for a run through Sundown's land. Eth would laugh and play with the foals and talk to Sundown and Sundown's mate, Burned. But everything was different now. He was alone and he had no clue where his best friend was. He hadn't seen a familiar face in a very long time. It must have been months.
He picked up his dark hooves and walked along the grassy outcrop of the land, taking in the scents and scenery. But his face did not show happiness or calmness. It showed a sorrowful look, and he knew it. His peltage was not the usual jet black, but a black peltage with dirt throughout. His mane and tail were scraggly and untamed. With his charcoal forelock covering the interruption of the rest of his jet black face - the white streak on the left side of his forelock. It was not visible like usual, he didn't want anyone to see it. He had gotten it in a fire, but he liked his black exterior, not the one white streak that was so usually visible. His deep chocolate orbs were not as warm as usual, and did not glimmer. He concentrated on the horizon, he didn't care if no one wanted to talk to him anymore. He would just stand here silently, hoping that one day he would find another soulmate. Hoping for something that would probably never happen.
