hair: My hair is fairly short and curly. It's a normal brown--I guess I like it. I mean it's nothing special, but it is my look. I do like my little side burns and I've normally got the bit of stubble you see in those pictures, but I am clean-shaven occasionally.
eyes: Well my eyes aren't anything special either. I don't wear glasses, or contacts and they are just brown--match my hair. Nothing too special about that I think...
nose: My nose is a bit big, I suppose, but it's not like huge. I don't really think much of it.
lips: My lips? Well, I guess they're a bit thin, I don't know...
complexion: I've got great complexion. I don't get zits anymore--though that is a bit contributed to some creams. I don't really have a tan all the time, just that tone of skin--I'm far from pale.
body: I've got a great body, if I do say so myself. Not hugely muscular, but toned.
distinguishing features: I do have a tattoo on my wrist that supposedly means peace in Chinese. Oh and I'm left handed.
style: I like to wear sort of casual clothes. I like zip-up hoodies and t-shirts. I do wear a lot of button down shirts though, never tucked in and normally with jeans. Especially for my job, I'm always in jeans, my cowboy boots, and my button down shirt with an apron around my waist.

likes: Musicals; His brothers; Bartending; NYC; Random Props; Getting to see the tech side of theater; Playing the guitar.
dislikes: Bullies; Ignorant Directors; Drinking, and he's a bartender--that's why; Swimming; Brigadoon; Divas; Beef, he only eats chicken and turkey as meat goes.
strengths: Acting, yah; Singing, again yah; Dancing, a third yah; Caring personality; Dedication, he'll stick to what he says.
weaknesses: Sports, save soccer; Computers, he can use them, but isn't quite as brilliant with them as one may expect; Musicals, he loves them--will always see one in town; He can be a bit bossy; Brownies, NOM.
fears: Cats, yeah, cats; Drowning, he's not too fond of swimming; Loosing someone he loves.
goals: Star in some production, be it a TV show, a movie, or a stage show on Broadway; Save enough money to move to NYC; Be on location in England for some show.
secrets: He's saving up to move to NYC; His favorite type of music are Soundtracks to Broadway musicals; He wouldn't trade his clunker '89 Toyota for anything.
general personality: I'm very easy going really. I don't care much what other people think about me--I'm an actor, it's just a 'side-effect' of that. I do however care what people think, do, say, anything about my brothers. I'm fairly protective of them. Well, more Junior than Zander, Zander can be a bit annoying. I love spending time with them though, I never miss one of their events, especially Junior and his riding up at the ranch. I'm a good listener, very personable--good considering I'm a bartender. Got to listen to all those problems, I don't mind though. People are very interesting. I like my job, my life. I'm sort-of a go-with-the-flow kind-of guy. I can deal with just about anything that comes my way. Because of that I'm never really angry, oh certainly annoyed, but you've really got to push my buttons to get me pissed. Mainly the only way to do that is to constantly talk trash about my brothers. I can't say it enough, I'm very protective of them.
I know the girls like me, and I do like them--but I can't stand any of those prissy, 'city-type' girls. Give me a down-home country girl any day. Looks ain't really on the top of my list, I like a girl I can really have a good conversation with. I don't want the relationship to be centered around making out and sex and all--in fact I rather like taking it slow, getting to know the girl first. I'm not afraid of commitment, but I'm so not ready for marriage, not looking for that for a few more years. I tend to spoil my girls a bit too, not that I have much money to spend at all--I mean come on, I'm an actor and a bartender. I'm not raking in much money at all. But I do like to spend money on my girl--not on stupid gifts, but things that are really sentimental or something they need.

history: Jake was born right here in Wayside Texas in a simple ranch house just in walking distance from town. He's never really been out of the town. Though there was a class trip to NYC in the 6th grade and he's been fascinated with the city ever since and he's trying to save up money to move there--but he won't tell anyone that. From a very young age he was interested in acting--being in the school plays since 3rd grade and starring in them since 8th. He's not been too successful with school work, not getting straight A's, he'd often get a C, but never below that. His favorite class was history--still is. He doesn't plan on going to college though.
Anyway, when he was nearly 4 he got a little brother who he just adored. No matter how much he picked on his brother, he still loved him. He grew up with his dad around all the time because he was an author--staying home and writing fantasy novels. He always seemed to have his head in the clouds dreaming of how things might be. His mom wasn't around quite so much--being on call most of the time as a vet. Jake didn't mind, he was his father's son. He took an interest in the genre and it sort-of led him to acting. He liked imagining he was someone else--immersing himself in a fantasy world, he found it was nearly the same with acting--just you did it for people to see. He was a brilliant actor, putting on shows for his brothers, his dad, and their golden Harley.
As he grew up he didn't care what people thought of him really. He was quite the oddball. A theater geek who played soccer too. He would often try and help with tech for the fall show during soccer and be in the spring show--always wanting to be involved. He became more serious about his theater though as he grew older and he stopped playing soccer, instead he took voice and dance lessons with a teacher the next town over. Because of his dedication he was the star of every show in his junior and senior year of school. He also dabbled in some community theater during the summer. He's always looking for some show to be doing. He'll do anything with a show--wanting all the experience he can get, but his dream is to get on a TV show really.
He graduated last year, but has been working at the bar for two years now. He knows about the ranch, of course. His brother rides up there--he also sees many of the boarders and staff at the bar getting a drink. He rather enjoys talking to them, but doesn't ride himself--he has a few times, but on his brother's horse and only under the supervision of his brother's teacher--Tango. He know the basics of western riding, but doesn't have any interest to learn more.

roleplay sample:Jul 6, 2009 21:11:38 GMT -8 @tango said:Tango !It had been a hectic few weeks--settling in and all. He had explored the town the day before and figured he'd check out the bar tonight. There wasn't much for him to do around the ranch just yet, he hadn't settled in and gotten the hang of how Serenity wanted everything working. There also wasn't anyone interested in his services just yet. It was kind-of nice to have a break for once--if only he could appreciate it himself. He enjoyed being so busy though, he handled it well too. Never cracking under the stress--but also never really letting it build up to that. He knew when he needed to say no, even if he hated to. He had learned that people needed to understand that he trained a lot of people's horses and it took time. He couldn't do it all.
He'd brought his dogs along, leaving them in the back of his old pick-up. They weren't going anywhere, they were both very good and well trained. When he got inside there were a few looks from the drunk men sitting near the door--wondering what the hell this preppy city guy was doing in their bar. Tango just smiled and gave them a nod, letting them scowl at him. He was by no means a preppy city boy, but he did dress like it--he just enjoyed the clothes. He sat at the bar and ordered a beer, taking sips at it and watching the commotion in the bar. He only drank in bits, never finishing off a bottle. He wasn't the type to get drunk--it didn't appeal to him in the slightest.
As the men at the bar got more drunk he decided it was time to leave, gave a smile to the bartender and paid him before heading out the door. He wasn't one that wanted to get involved in a bar fight, or even just see it take place. Not a fancy of his--he'd just sit out with his dogs for a while, enjoying the cool night air before heading back. He hadn't even noticed Serenity at the bar--she'd been at least six people away from him. Tango headed to his truck and climbed into the bed with the dogs, sitting on the edge and rubbing their necks while just enjoying the breeze. He was startled when he heard some commotion from inside and saw Serenity walking out with an obviously drunk guy following her. He wasn't sure if she knew they guy, or if he was some random guy wanting something from her. It seemed like he was the latter and Tango hopped from his truck, calling with a sharp whistle to the dogs to follow.
"Hey Serenity, any trouble here?" He smiled to Serenity, but after he said her name, he looked to the man as he finished his sentence. It was a sharp look, and the two dogs stood behind him on either side. He put a hand down, palm facing back to them and they sat obediently waiting for the next command--wondering what was going on. Tango watched the man wearily, hopefully he wasn't quite so drunk that he would try and fight Tango with the dogs there too. He hoped Serenity wouldn't take offense to his help either.
